In times of need, such as when the rains are late, a mganga would lead the community in seeking forgiveness from a higher power. Mganga plays a crucial role in African Tradition, always working for the benefit of the community without any intention of causing harm or suffering to anyone. On the contrary, a Mchawi is a witch known for their malevolent intentions to create chaos and turmoil in society.
